Preparing for SC22 Birds of a Feather

  • We have completed documents and are testing that those other than originators, can successfully run benchmarks.
  • This is done for Cloudmask and Earthquake
  • Held up by UVA system problems
  • Also UK datastore offline. Need to use redundant SDSC storage
  • We suggested putting the H3 paper on arxiv; Piotr Luszczek had previously told us how to do it compatibly with Springer LNCS conference publication
  • Note No meeting November 16 as it coincides with SC22 BOF
  • Geoffrey will draft call for new benchmarks and description of current ones

Futures -- new benchmarks

  • We scheduled 4 10 minute talks for November 30 on New benchmarks
  • Wesley Brewer: based on SC22 talk by Mathew Boyer on Inference Benchmark
  • Piotr: Performance using Gaussian Processes and not Deep Learning
  • Gregg Barrett
  • Geoffrey on Diffusion model CompuCell3D surrogate
  • Could be others e.g. from RAL, Shantenu Jha and Vijay Janapa Reddi
  • There was some discussion on funding with surprise at difficulties. Gregg thought we could get international funding
