AI Alliance Meeting April 2 2024

Geoffrey went to Foundation Group breakout at AI Alliance meeting with mainly Industry presentations, especially IBM and ServiceNow with a strong interest in time Series and benchmarks. Material science also discussed
The group recommended aligning MLCommons and AI Alliance in benchmarking ; perhaps by reaching out to IBM.

Foundation Models

Tom Gibbs noted the latest Nvidia products stress low precision; as small as 1.57 bits with inference as a key goal
Designed for LLM, one needs to test on regression with Generative AI and also look at Training process
Geoffrey suggested the Calorimeter simulation which started as a Kaggle challenge but is still very active. He will prepare a memo on this. His current notes are at Calorimeter
